My Pulitzer Prediction

Okay, I’m going out on a limb here, but, I called it once before. I had a chance about ten years back to interview for radio, the novelist Jeffrey Eugenides, for his book, Middlesex.

I haughtily (Well, that’s how Michelle called it) proclaimed, “Mr. Eugenides, I’m gonna say it–I believe this one’s going to win the Pulitzer.” I wish I had put money down on that.

I’m not a gambler. Buuut, this year, I’m predicting the Pulitzer for the Best Biography of 2017. I think that it’s gonna go to Kay Redfield Jamison for Robert Lowell: Setting the River On Fire.

There I said it.

I hope you’re right because I’m an enormous admirer of hers. I was incredibly honored she endorsed the cover of my new memoir “Birth of a New Brain – Healing from Postpartum Bipolar Disorder.”
